On behalf of ACTION Ohio, a statewide group of former foster youth who strive to improve outcomes for our brothers and sisters of care, we like that the prevention plan requires a signature. Child protection is most important. If the young person can safely remain home, that's great -- having a signature means that there is accountability to make sure that their home environment is one of safety.
We also agree with Jennifer Hafner’s comment/question that: How can you be assessing the safety of a child when you are only seeing the family every other month? A lot can happen in 8-12 weeks. I feel the minimum requirement for PCSA contact with families should be face to face with all parties at least once a month to be able to assess safety.
